Am looking to retire to either Cuenca or Cotacachi but cannot find anywhere information regarding vet care for my dog. Can anyone advise? Thanks.

Vet in Cuenca
by: Susan B

Hola - I have a 12 year old black lab who has been diagnosed with cancerous growths on her leg - nothing has been found inside - we have had this growth removed by the vet we have come toknow as a friend and who we trust with our 4-footed companion. We have been told by other vets (more than one) here "just to let her live her life - she's old you know"

This minor surgery happened last Friday and the difference in attitude and spirit is totally remarkable. Maria Jose Paredes is young and incredibly skilled - she allowed us to be in the room to watch the surgery and now she has called with suggestions of meds. (natural) that should help Bertie recover. Se has spent a lot of time online doing this research! Her number is 098-774-1376. After some less than successful experiences, she is where will go from now on! Oh and by the way - she answers her cell: after hours!

Yes, we have pretty good veterinary care in Cotacachi also. My housemate has used this vet often as she fosters dogs. He makes house calls and the fees are very reasonable.
