wanting to become an expat in ecuador

I would like to hear from readers who live on the beaches or close to the mountains. Am thinking about moving to ecuador permanently and would like some insight as to the best people to contact for real estate. I would also like some pen pals of people who already live there. Thank you!

Hola Kate,

Please make sure you check out the pen pal page on the website and also contact Sarah in Quito or Ashley in Cuenca. These places are in the mountains. You may want to do an exploratory tour before making a decision to move.

Saludos
RIE

Landing in Cuenca, Ecuador
by: Jeanne

I am thinking of retiring in Cuenca, Ecuador and I understand that I need to check out the place before I decide but where is a reasonable place to rent/share when I first land there. Are there any expats who rent out accommodation in their homes or local people I can share accommodation with so I can learn the language?
