Looking for friendship in Cuenca

by Marc
(Ohio - US)

My name is Marc, I am of French nationality with a duel American citizenship.
I am divorced, slightly over 60 years of age, in great shape and spirit, well-traveled and fairly educated.
I speak French, English and Spanish fluently.
I love the outdoors, bicycling, hiking, cooking, wine and my occasional cigar
I have been a Chef for over 45, I am presently a Culinary Professor at Ohio State University and plan to retire early next year.
While I can, I want to get away from this stressful life in the US and begin to enjoy my life in a more peaceful and healthier environment – Ecuador seems to offer all I desire. I simply adore, embrace and respect South American culture in general and its people.

While strongly thinking of retiring there, I plan on going to Cuenca and begin exploring those possibilities during the last week of November – My daughter and her husband will be coming along for a vacation.

Friendship in Cuenca
by: Marc D.

Thank you for your welcoming words Marian.
Although I will first come to Cuenca, I have not yet decided where I want to settle. I am sure, with time, that decision will be obvious.
I am so looking forward to this.
Again, much appreciated your reply.

You Will Be Welcome In Cuenca
by: Marian

Marc, every person who retired to Ecuador fully understands your reason and desire to be in this laid back and beautiful country. You will fit right in, actually much easier than most of us who came without knowing the language. While my husband and I settled in Quito, (we are from Phoenix, came last year), I can imagine, that the colorful life of Cuenca will be a great place for you. Wishing you the very best and congratulations on your great decision.
Marian P.
