Say I have arrived and thru you, I have applied for and
received Pensionista status, meeting all current requirements. I
am ready to ship my household goods. Can an Ecuadorian citizen (or
me as a pensionista) own and possess firearms? I am an avid hunter
and sportsman and have several rifles and shotguns for hunting and
hand guns for personal protection. I hold a Concealed Weapons
Permit ( approved by FL and checked by the FBI. do they have such a
thing in Ecuador? What is the status of hunting in Ecuador?

Ecuador loves Expats and you will not have problems to acquire a Pensioner visa, provided that you will have all the documents apostilled and translated, showing your monthly guaranteed income from US. Also, as a resident of Ecuador, you will be allowed to bring a 20 or 40 foot container full of your household goods free of any tariffs and duties, courtesy of your new country. However, firearms cannot be put into the container or be brought into the country. At least that was the rules 2 years ago when we came to live here. Wishing you the best.
