June 26, 2012:

Hi Ex-Pats, Pats and other friendly bipeds. My husband and I are THRILLED to be traveling (from California, U.S.A.) to Ecuador this September. We plan on staying for a minimum of three months as we explore business opportunities and residency. We are a consciously aware couple that enjoy people and appreciate life’s simple pleasures. Our interests are spirituality, art, gold detecting, nature, health and happiness. We intend to travel through as much of Ecuador (west of the Andes) as energies and time permit.

1). We are looking for a knowledgeable, joyful, bilingual individual that has the time and interest to act as a paid guide and translator for all or part of our September through December stay.
2). Our lodging preference is home-stay. Looking for home-stay opportunities ...
2). What kind of internet service can we expect as we travel through the different provinces? Is there a favored service provider you’d recommend?
3). What do you suggest travelers “not leave home without” for a comfortable and enjoyable trip?
4). Although shots are not required, what inoculations (if any) did you find helpful?
5). Can intelligent folk get through the residency application process on their own, or is it truly an attorney’s arena?
6). Thoughts about rainforest tours and favorite towns to visit/live in?
We already appreciate those that take the time to reply. Please know that we’d be happy to return the favor with whatever need you may have here in the U.S.
